Please join us in welcoming another new addition to the SOS Group Team. Brenda Knutson joins Sales Outsource Solutions as Regional Sales Manager for Alberta and the Northwest Territories.


Brenda brings with her more than 30 years experience in the electrical industry within both the contracting and distribution communities. Driven to help customers find the solutions that best meet their needs, Brenda enjoys introducing new technologies to current standards and procedures by sourcing new and better product offerings. Brenda has worked with many different customers across a wide range of industries including the Utility, Petro Chemical, Oil, Industrial, Transit, Communication, OEM and Commercial verticals.

Brenda holds a degree in Business from ICS. Based near Edmonton, she enjoys the outdoors and is inspired by her husband and son and finds joy in the many animals that surround their home. In her free time, Brenda trains miniature horses to be therapy horses. Travelling to visit different cultures & ancient architecture keeps her mind active and the photo albums full. If not at her desk, she can be found sitting on her deck with her husband, dachshunds, and Bengal cat (who thinks he is dog three) and watching the sun rise or set.

Welcome to Sheldon Sawchyn:
Business Development Program Manager

Please join us in welcoming another new addition to the SOS Group Team. Mr. Sheldon Sawchyn joins Sales Outsource Solutions as Business Development Program Manager.


Sheldon will lead our migration to the Repfabric CRM, a state-of-the-art business development platform, that will aide us in the execution of our Demand Creation program. Highlights of this program include:


  • Engagement with and education of the country’s engineering, consultant, and design community.

  • The identification and coordination of opportunities relative to federal and provincially funded rural/municipal, First Nations, Inuit and Métis, alternative energy, transit, and utility broadband initiatives.

  • The further collection and harvesting of contact information of our industry’s key influencers.

  • Development of comprehensive reporting, analytics, and marketing intelligence.


Sheldon is a recent graduate from the University of Western Ontario where he obtained a Bachelor of Management and Organizational Studies, with a Specialization in Finance. In his free time, he has a passion for playing soccer and supporting his favourite soccer team, Chelsea FC. When not playing soccer, he enjoys a variety of other sports, spending time outdoors and with his family.

Transit Business Development Manager

Please join us in welcoming another new addition to the SOS Group Team. Mr. Alex Rand joins Sales Outsource Solutions as Transit Business Development Manager for Ontario, Manitoba and Saskatchewan.


Alex brings us a broad range of electrical industry experience with all the involved stakeholders including Engineering, JVs, PPP and Government to support Infrastructure, Light Rail Transit, Oil & Gas, Mining, Telecommunications and Intelligent Transportation Systems Projects. He has more than 6 years of Light Rail Transit experience and a combined 18 years of proven strategic technical sales and business development of electrical products, services, and solutions.


“Alex brings us some fantastic experience with the transit industry which will be a tremendous help for our customers and partners. Public transit ridership is expected to continue rising in coming years with all levels of governments committed to subsidies to support increased usage of public transit systems. In his spare time, he enjoys doing mechanics, reading, jogging, operating drones and is currently working on getting his Recreational Pilot Permit (RPP).

Welcome to Martin Stimpson:
Regional Sales Manager for BC & Yukon Territory

We are happy to announce that Martin Stimpson has joined Sales Outsource Solutions as Regional Sales Manager for the BC and Yukon Territory. Martin joins us after spending 20 years providing products and solutions to major service providers and fiber optic network builders in western Canada – most recently with TVC Canada.


Martin has a passion for technical products, understanding their unique points of difference, and how to effectively position them against the competition. Together with a well-practiced skill at learning clients’ needs and pain points, this has made him a go-to resource for his clients in the telecom industry. Martin has also been a three-time speaker at the Commtech trade show.


He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of British Columbia and studied international business at the University of Copenhagen. A born and bred Vancouver boy, Martin enjoys running the seawalls and skiing at Whistler. “I spent six years coaching youth soccer, and many more as a parent taxi driver for other sporting events. With two grown sons now away attending university, my wife and I found the transition to an empty nest surprisingly easy." Now he is an avid reader of biographies, historical fiction, and is also a bit of a business book geek. He is currently working on “Shoe Dog" by Phil Knight.

Retirement Announcement: Doug McFadden

It is with mixed emotions and sincere gratitude for his service that we are announcing the retirement of our B.C. Territory Manager, Doug McFadden, at the end of June. Doug has looked after major telecommunications accounts in British Columbia for the last five years.


This is Doug’s second retirement! He retired from Telus after a 34-year career, much of that focused on outside plant design. When Doug “retired” from Telus, he was Manager, Purchasing & Inventory Management. Doug then went to work for CommServe Marketing and joined SOS when CommServe was acquired.


Doug is looking forward to spending more time with his wife Dawne, his daughter, and his grandchildren. When things return to normal, they are looking forward to travelling again, as well as returning to their role as B.C. Bridge player champions with friends.


Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, we will have to delay his retirement dinner to a future date when we can all get together in person again.


Congratulations to Doug! Thank you for your service and we wish you an enjoyable, relaxing retirement.
